JUICY ISLANDの”JUICY”は、沖縄のソウルフード、「じゅーしー」（沖縄風炊き込みご飯）のこと。なんとじゅーしーおにぎりをモチーフにした、こんなモダンなステッカーがあったかねーというFREE FOWLSならではの衝撃のデザイン。歪んだ円形にみえる輪郭は、ステッカーの形がそのまま、じゅーしーおにぎりの形をしています。「I LOVE 石垣島」的なベタな表現のハートマークが黄色いのも、実はじゅーしーの脇役の「たくあん」をイメージしたもの。小さなステッカーにFREE FOWLSのじゅーしーへの思いが込められています。

２０１５年発売の「沖縄の金網の外にいる山羊は安全か?」Ｔシャツのデザインをステッカーにいたしました。 島の可愛い山羊をモチーフにしたデザイン、ではありますが実はその裏に、隠されたメッセージがあります。八重山諸島に米軍の基地はありませんが、沖縄本島には複数の米軍基地があります。沖縄における在日米軍基地と、専用施設の面積は、沖縄本島の面積の約１８％を占めています。実際この目で見てみるとその広大さに驚かされます。基地は金網で囲まれていますがこれだけ広大な土地だと、金網が取り囲んでいるのは米軍基地なのか、はたまた沖縄の方なのか、と思えてきたりします。金網の向こう側は、完全武装で平和を保っている場所、そしてこちら側は武力を持たずに、絶対戦争を起こしてはいけないと平和を祈っている沖縄県民の暮らす場所。このような状況で何か起きた時、果たして沖縄県民は安全なのかという単純な疑問が湧いてくるのです。そんな不安に怯える沖縄県民をか弱く愛くるしい山羊にたとえています。金網の外にいる山羊は本当に安全なのか？いち県民の不安をデザインしたのがこのステッカーなんです。
It is a design with the cute goat of the island as a motif. However, there is a hidden message on the back. There is no base of the United States Armed Forces at Yaeyama Islands. However, there are plural US bases in Okinawa main Island. The area of the U.S. Forces in Japan base in Okinawa accounts for approximately 18% of areas of Okinawa main Island. I am really surprised by the broadness when I see it. The base is surrounded with cage. The United States where the inside of the cage keeps peace in a panoply. Okinawa where the outside of the cage only prays for peace without having military power. In the case of an emergency, is Okinawa safe? I compare Okinawa people frightened by such an uneasiness to a goat. Is the goat which there is outside cage really safe?

石垣島の人魚・ステッカー

２０１６年発売の「石垣島の人魚」Ｔシャツのデザインをステッカーにいたしました。 石垣島には人魚がいるという伝説があります。その人魚が泣いているというデザインのステッカーです。なぜ、人魚は泣いているのか。。。兼ねてから問題になっている赤土流出による海洋汚染が未だに解決策が見つからないままなんです。石垣島に新空港が完成して以降、さらに島の開発は進んで海が濁ってきているのです。石垣島の財産は何よりも美しい青い海。この海を美しく青く保つこと、美しいまま次の世代に受け継ぐことが何よりも大事であるはずなのに、それができないでいるのです。近年、石垣島の都市化が止まりません。今一度立ち止まってこの島に大切なことは何なのか考える時期に来ていると思うのです。そんな思いをデザインした人魚Ｔシャツ。代金の３％は石垣島のNPO法人夏花(なつぱな)で島のサンゴの調査・保全のために使われます。ご協力いただきありがとうございます。このステッカーを通して島のことをもっと真剣に考えたいと思っています。

In late years urbanization of Ishigaki island does not stop. What is it to be important for this island?
